On this program we look at the extraordinary career of CHUCK CLOSE, an artist, who for thirty years, has been making fascinating portraits of his family and friends. We see a selection of his work from his last two shows at the Pace-Wildenstein Gallery and visit the artist in his downtown studio where he is seen making a portrait of Robert Rauschenberg. Included are interviews with fellow artists JANET FISH, APRIL GORNIK, KENT FLOETER . Also included are interviews with his first art dealer KLAUS KERTESS, critic/poet JOHN YAU and ROBERT STORR, organizer of Close's retrospective at MoMA.
