This is a rare and extensive glimpse at an enormous talent who occupied the New York art scene for many decades. This program includes two exhibitions of Alice Neel’s work at the Robert Miller gallery during the 1980’s as well as an in-depth interview with this irrepressible, vastly talented and accomplished artist shortly before her death in 1984. Also included are interviews with two of her painting subjects – noted art historian Linda Nochlin and curator John Perreault, both of whom vividly recollect their sittings with the formidable, yet endearing Alice Neel.
