For digital streaming licenses and institutional use, please contact [email protected].
This unusual program takes a rare look at the private, often secretive, creative process of an artist making a painting. In a rare moment in her downtown studio, ART/new york looks over Joan Semmel’s shoulder as she develops and paints a portrait of her friend and fellow artist, John Hardy. Further insight is provided by the artist as she comments on the process of making her painting.
